Coronary artery imaging at 3T using a novel ECG gated SSFP-Dixon sequence and a motion insensitive view ordering scheme

چکیده
Purpose: MR Coronary Artery Imaging (CAI) remains challenging due to the need for high spatial resolution as well as due to constraints imposed by physiological motion and the stringent requirements for fat and muscle suppression to visualize the arterial signal with good contrast. 3D ECG gated balanced steady state free precession (SSFP) imaging has shown great promise due to its high SNR, excellent blood-myocardium contrast and short scan times. Robust fat suppression remains challenging at high field strengths due to B0 and B1 inhomogeneities. Furthermore, fat saturation pulses perturb the SSFP steady state and can result in severe artifacts. We report a novel ECG gated dual-echo 3D balanced SSFP sequence with a two-point Dixon fat-water reconstruction algorithm and demonstrate its potential for imaging the coronary arteries at 3T.

3T Coronary MRA using 3D Multi-interleaved Multi-echo Acquisition and VARPRO Fat-water Separation
Introduction: Coronary MR Angiography is a valuable tool for non-invasive assessment of coronary arteries. Presently, contrastenhanced, fat-saturated, ECG-triggered and navigator-gated 3D spoiled gradient-echo sequence is employed for whole-heart Coronary MRA at 3T. However, large static field variations at 3T frequently result in non-uniform fat-suppression over the field-of-view (FOV), obscur...

Introduction: The combination of arterial spin labeling technique with 3D balanced SSFP (b-SSFP) sequence for data acquisition has been recently used for non-contrast MR Angiography (MRA) in the body . Commonly, a respiratory-gated scan with bellows or navigator gating to detect diaphragmatic shift is performed with a segmented view ordering scheme. However, motion artifacts cannot be avoided i...
متن کاملMagnetic resonance--guided coronary artery stent placement in a swine model.
BACKGROUND Magnetic resonance (MR)--guided coronary artery stent placement is a challenging vascular intervention because of the small size of the coronary arteries combined with incessant motion during the respiratory and cardiac cycles. These obstacles necessitate higher temporal and higher spatial resolution real-time MR imaging techniques when compared with interventional peripheral MR angi...
متن کاملComparison of the myocardial perfusion and wall motion results by ECG-Gated 99mTc-MIBI SPECT, before and after CABG for evaluation of myocardial viability [Persian]
It is of value to determine the amount of viable myocardial tissue in patients suffering from chronic coronary artery disease and ventricular dysfunction. Having the capability of evaluating both myocardial perfusion and function, simultaneously, myocardial scanning by ECG-Gated is an appropriate method for this purpose. The aim of this study was to compare the results of myocardial perfu...

Introduction: We aimed to investigate of effect of left bundle branch block (LBBB) on perfusion and functional parameters in dipyridamole Tc99m-MIBI gated myocardial perfusion SPECT which may be helpful in interpretation of myocardial perfusion imaging. Methods: We studied 70 patients with low pre-test probability of coronary artery disease in two groups: 35 patients with LBBB and 35 subject...
